I'm not sure I'll ever get bored of the digital printing boom, mainly as it lends itself so well to design with a sense of fun. Amid the myriad products on the market today there are a few designs that linger slightly longer in the mind. Firstly, the most ethereal and marvellous mock marble chairs, sofas and, er, cushion orbs(?) by Maurizio Galante. His cactus stools are, I feel, less convincing.

But if it's escapism you want, I'm sticking with the 'authors from Oxford' allusion and going all Middle Earth with Gaetano Pesce's "Montanara" sofas.
I fear that in order to do them justice you'd need a very minimalist, white box style room that would show them off to their full advantage. For a more home friendly approach try the Deluge 3D curtains by Studio Eric Klarenbeek.
Harking back to surface illusion Maison Martin Margiela had an admirable crack at the trend with these deceptively patent leather shoes. Celine's fabrics were stunning, but I think the cut of the whole collection was too boxy and unflattering.

And finally, digital printing on tiles is only just taking off, so whilst the technology is there, I struggled to find any good examples. These were produced by a company called Digitiles for a public swimming pool
